THE CAPITAL HEARINGS ANNOUNCE SUMMER 2026 AUDITIONS
Seeking Exceptional Singers for a Dynamic Mixed A Cappella Ensemble
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Capital Hearings, a premier D.C.-based a cappella ensemble known for its eclectic blend of classical choral, vocal jazz, and contemporary styles, is holding Summer 2026 auditions for Soprano, Alto, and Tenor voice parts.
Auditions will be held Wednesday, June 17th and Monday, June 22nd. Callbacks will be held Thursday, June 25th.
“We’re building a community of artists dedicated to creating extraordinary music,” said a representative of the group. “Our repertoire reflects the creativity and diversity of D.C., and we’re excited to bring fresh voices into our ensemble.”
The Capital Hearings seeks singers who excel in both classical and non-classical styles, possess strong sight-reading skills and ensemble singing experience, are confident soloists with a passion for a cappella, and bring additional skills in areas such as arranging, vocal percussion, or arts management.
Rehearsals are held bi-weekly on Thursday evenings in Woodley Park, increasing to weekly during busy performance seasons. Performances include a major fall concert, holiday engagements, and special events throughout the year.
