The Capital Hearings: Path to Here (9/30/17)
On September 30, The Capital Hearings seventh annual fall concert, “Path to Here: An Album Release Concert,” will explore the paths and journeys we all take with music spanning hundreds of years of history, and by artists from down the street and around the world. The performance will feature a diverse repertoire of classical, jazz and pop a cappella music, as well as the release of the group’s second album. Several selections from the new album will anchor the concert.
The program features the music of up-and-coming American composers such as Connor J. Koppin, jazz legends like Hoagy Carmichael, pop and folk stars from the Indigo Girls to Ed Sheeran, and choral masterworks old (Palestrina) and new (Betinis, Ešenvalds). The concert will also showcase two songs written earlier this year for The Capital Hearings by local folk duo The Sweater Set.
